When performing a partial credit, you must remove all the check marks (which are selected by default) and choose which order lines to credit. You can click the top column to deselect/select all check marks.
Remember that it is not possible to invoice the period you are partially crediting again.
The credit date is set to today's date but can be overridden. The date determines the period in which the revenue/credit is recorded, with respect to export to accounting and the basis for reports. The invoice date on the credit note often reflects the invoice date that was listed on the invoice being credited. Notification of the invoice date can be activated under Settings >Standard setup > Invoice > Notification on invoice date.
The payment method can be overridden here, on the credit date.
Example of a partial credit:
Here I will credit product 16 "Delivery fee".
I select the line and can change the following columns:
- Quantity: here I can change the number of products/services I want to credit
- Time units: here I can enter how many days I want to credit
- Amount to credit: here I can enter the desired amount to be credited
In this case, I am crediting the delivery fee, so I do not need to change any of the columns. I enter a note in the remarks field and do a preview:
Then I click the "Credit/Credit+Send" button. I then receive a warning about the invoice date, which is a setting that can be configured under Settings > Default Setup > Invoice.
If I have selected the "Credit + Send" button in the credit screen, the print and send invoice and credit note screen opens.
I click the "Send Email/EHF" button.
The email status changes to "Sending" and I can now close the window.
Sending of the invoice/credit note occurs approximately every 10 minutes, so the status does not immediately change to "Sent".
After about 5-10 minutes, the status changes to "Sent" and I can click the link for more information:
Click the date link to see the entire communication history on the credit note.
If I click the "Credit" button in the credit screen, I can send the credit note later by selecting the line and clicking the "Print/Send" button.

Invoice screen:
I select invoice 97, which I just partially credited, and click the "Credit" button again. I have previously credited product 16 and therefore cannot select this line since I have credited this already. I see the amount I have credited in the right column "Previously credited".
If you want to invoice the period again, you must credit the remaining lines so that it becomes a full credit. Then you will be asked if you want to invoice the period again.
