Onlet offers a flexible and comprehensive solution for managing discount templates at multiple levels.
The discount templates can be linked to:
- Customer group
- Customer and customer project
- Order
Calculation Basis
The discount templates use the recommended price as the basis for calculating the discount on the order.
This is done by entering a desired discount rate in percent at the desired level in the group structure. Alternatively, you can also enter a standard daily rate in each template that will always override other values.
Creating Discount Templates
In the discount template register (products > discount template), all discount templates are created, either at the corporate level (for those running an Onlet group and who want the discount template to apply to all companies in the group) or at the company level. This choice is made when creating a new template by clicking the "+Add" button.
In the example below, a discount template named “Test discount” has been created with a 10% discount on all rental products. In this case, groups (in the tree structure) have been selected and a set of discount rates entered. This setup/rates are then automatically inherited down through the entire structure. In addition, I have gone into the group “Dumpers 3T” and made an override (“Suspend inheritance”) which is inherited down to all subgroups and products. The down arrow indicates that inheritance is canceled in one or more subgroups/products. The pencil indicates which group or product has a canceled inheritance and therefore has its own prices/discounts.
By entering rates at a high level, you ensure that any new groups added automatically receive the correct discount rate depending on where they are placed in the structure.
Discount Template on Customer Group
The standard discount template is registered per customer group under Settings > Standard Registers > Customer Group.
The discount template can be overridden at the customer or project level.
Price/Discount Structure on the Customer Card
- Here you select whether a price template or discount template should be used for the selected customer
- The tree structure is used to filter the values set per group, or alternatively to allow overriding
- By checking “Susoend inheritance” you can override the values coming from the template. This will then apply only to the selected customer
- If you clear the rental discount field, you get the option to enter a fixed daily rate
Price/Discount Structure on Project
- A project by default follows the same discount/price template set on the customer
- Uncheck the box "same as customer" and click the button "Edit project discounts" to enter your own discounts for the applicable project
- The same possibilities exist to set a custom price/discount structure on projects as on customers, as well as the option to override by canceling inheritance
Order Screen
In the order screen, under the "Key Info" tab, the price/discount template that applies to the order is set. It retrieves the discount template from the customer/project. The prompt shows whether the price/discount template is from the customer or if it is one from the project that is used. The discount template can be changed directly in the dropdown menu.
If you switch the discount template on the order, this applies only to this order (not the customer/project register). When you switch the discount template, a black warning triangle appears with info that the selected discount template deviates from the customer/project.
If you want to permanently change the price/discount structure for the selected project, click the pencil to the right of the project field so that the project opens in a separate window and you can click the "Edit project discounts" button.
You can also change the discount on customer/project by opening the customer card in the order screen.
Note: If you enter the customer's or project's price/discount template setup from the order and make changes, you will always be asked whether the order lines should be recalculated or not when you return to the order.
Access Templates
Under Settings > Company > Access Templates, you can set whether users of the access template should have Edit rights to the discount template solution.
