If you want to categorize products under a model, you can create models at the last group level.
Model is a level between the last group level and the products.
Product info fields that are set as global under standard registers (settings) are now inherited down to the last group level, model, and all the way down to the products. You can override inheritance and add new info fields at all levels.
Last Group Level
There are 2 tabs at the last group level where you can create new models and edit desired product info:
- Model
- Product Info
Model Tab:
Here you create new models and select which products should be under which model. You can sort the order of the models in the group structure by clicking on the desired model and pressing the up or down arrow.
Product Info Tab:
All product info fields set as global in standard registers are inherited down to the last group level. You can override inheritance and enter values that will be further inherited down to the models and products. All fields that have overridden inheritance (own values) at the model and product levels will not be affected.
Here inheritance is overridden for "Range" with the value "12.40m". The value is inherited down to the model and further down to the products (which do not have their own values). At the model level, you can see that this field is inherited from the product group.
If you want to reset the values on the models, you can click "Update Product Models." A new window will then appear where you select which fields you want to update. If the fields have their own values on the model, these will be deleted and new inheritance restored.
Example: I want "range" to be inherited down to all models that currently have their own values. I click "Update Product Models" and a new window opens where I can select which fields to update. I select range and update the models.
If I click on a model under the group "boom lift 16 meter," the field has been inherited from the product group, and the previous value has been overridden.
If I want to update the products that have their own values, I do the same while at the model level by clicking the "Update Products" button:
If you have not created models under the last group level, the value you enter at the group will be inherited directly down to the products.
Model
Here, product info is inherited from standard registers (global) and fields where inheritance has been overridden at the group level. In the column on the right, you can see where the fields are inherited from.
You can override inheritance and enter values that are inherited down to the products. If the field already has its own values on the products, these will remain.
You can add new fields by clicking the "Add" button. New fields are inherited down to the products.
You can update the products by clicking the "Update Products" button. A new window will appear where you can select which fields you want to update. Remember that existing values on the products will then be deleted and replaced with new values from the model.
Product
Product Info Tab:
On the products, I override inheritance and enter relevant values. I can choose to display these values in a tooltip in the resource management view.
I add new fields by clicking the "Add" button. New fields are added at the bottom of the list.
Overview Tab:
Here there is a new field where you can select which model the product should belong to.
When creating new products, you can also select which model the product should belong to:
Tooltip Display in Resource Management View and Order View
All fields containing text or a value will be shown in a tooltip when you hover over the product (on the entire row) in the resource management view.
Model is shown at the top of the list:
When you hover over the product number in the order view, the product info is also shown as a tooltip display:
